Why the date decides the code

Proceedings arising from an offence on or after 1 July 2024 follow the BNSS; matters already underway under the CrPC continue under it for many purposes. This is why bail applications, FIRs and orders across Faridabad and other courts currently cite both sets of numbers. For the substantive-offence side, see the companion IPC to BNS section mapping.
